A few weeks ago I came across an open source PC game similar to Civilization I and II (I’m a hardcore fan of the series, but left my copies at my parents house on accident). I was heavenly surprised at how in-depth the game is and holds up so well as a replacement for Civilization.

Does Recycled Toilet Paper Hurt Your Bum?

Since I live in an apartment building, I am unable to receive direct electricity from wind mills or solar panels (I can and do buy some electricity from those sources through my electric company but the percent is quite small). Thus, I instead compensate by doing the three R’s as much as possible.

The Ethics of File Sharing

File sharing. This is accepted by both the nerd and youth community. For nerds, file sharing isn’t just about sharing music and movies but also sharing open source software quickly and easily by the use of torrents. Nonetheless, illegal file sharing does happen and it is accepted by many throughout the respective communities.

Because of illegal file sharing, torrents are frowned upon by the general public. Torrent sites have been shut down, sued, and even raided by the FBI. Even with this happening, the sites continue to strive and will not disappear overnight.
