5 Amazing Webmaster Forums

The Behemoths
WebmasterWorld - Where I started. The WebmasterWorld library has tons of quality information on PHP, .htaccess, regex, link building, etc. Brett Tabke’s 26 steps to success, although written a few years ago, still holds true today and is a great read.
DigitalPoint - Over the past year I have been using Digital Point more and more. It is a great place to meet with other webmasters and learn new ideas. The moderators are more lenient than WebmasterWorld which can be both good and bad. While posting links to websites, having a signiture, and trading other services is tolerated, so are trolls in some cases. Don’t get me wrong, the moderators do ban users of excessive trollness, but not the minor trolls which can cause problems as well.

Smaller guys, although not that small
Conquer Your Niche - A great place to learn about marketing all niches. Just about anything goes within the genre.
WebProWorld - A forum of all trades: Search engine info, marketing discussions, site design, IT, and eCommerce. On the exterier the site looks incredibly professional. However, once staying for a while some problems exist. The casual troll, repeated questions exist. The good news: some quality discussions take place, signitures, and links are posted.
OZZU The site looks a little crowded with topics stuck together, design, hosting, and coding all under the same headline? Err.. Other than that there is some nice information to be found. Signitures are allowed. If you are looking for paid advertising though, this isn’t the place.

Synopsis:
Definitely check out the behomiths and register. There is some great information to be found and quality discussions. You can find many of the top bloggers and webmasters hanging out, adding to the discussions or just giving great advice.

The “smaller guys” are definitely worth a shot. Even if they aren’t up to your style they are still worth a few posts. The links back to your website are well worth the chance alone. Each forum has great pagerank and will generate a few clicks a day if you happen to become active.

Hey excellent post. I didn’t know about ConquerYourNiche. Though I think when you’re talking about webmaster forums you can’t forget some of the big names like:

http://www.namepros.com (Focused on Domains but covers everything)
    http://www.v7n.com/forums/
    http://www.sitepoint.com
    http://www.dnscoop.com/forums

And I can’t leave out my own :) Which has some great premium content…

    Cheers.

I’ve tried out almost all of those and I can’t say I’m much of a fan. Sitepoint was a major let down compared to the others listed. Such a large forum and no real content IMO. To each his own though–good luck with your forum.

You forgot a webmaster forum that I run, it’s pretty new (2 months old approx.)

It isn’t listed for two reasons:

      1) You state your forum is only 2 months old, well this article was written 5 months ago.
      2) Never heard of your forum before.
