For the past few decades Halloween has been a huge money earner. In 2007, over $5 billion was spent on the holiday. DVD sales, costumes, decorations, and candy are amongst the days biggest earners.
What does this mean for bloggers?
Bloggers are in a unique position with advertising and sales. Although costumes are sometimes overdone, almost every blog can market something about Halloween. List your favorite Halloween movies, your favorite decorations or candy, or go all out and list the top 10 sexiest costumes for 2008. Hey, why not? Everyone wants a piece of the orange pie.
But, if you want to be a unique bird (which, you should), try something different this year. Carving pumpkins is an awesome linkbait opportunity, as is homemade costumes and homemade candy.

Of course, Halloween will earn your blog more no matter what. The holiday season has officially been underway since Yom Kippur. So why not utilize this time of year?
