It is championship time! ProBlogger and the Daily Blog Tips are two of the top Marketing Guru blogs in the whole world! Or, at least in English. So we’ve been through RSS subscriptions, inlinks, and a bunch of other great tid bits. But, what really makes a great marketing blog? Personality.
This round will be completely about ProBlogger and Daily Blog Tips‘ copywriting and background.

So lets get it started:
Stats were frozen on October 20th
Round 1:
Unique post ideas:
ProBlogger: Questions to the reader
Daily Blog Tips: Blogging Questions & Answers
Round 2:
Blog background:
ProBlogger: The blog was started as a way to keep records of what Darren Rowse was learning about making money blogging.
Daily Blog Tips: Started as a way to share what Daniel Scocco has learned about blogging.
Round 3:
How in depth is the about me page:
ProBlogger: The page goes through how the blog was started along with the b5media network and why to use ProBlogger. ProBlogger.net also includes a FAQ.
Daily Blog Tips: Offers some tidbits on Daniel Scocco’s past and experiences with blogging and why he started the blog. Also includes information on his consultation services.
Round 4:
Use of images:
ProBlogger: 4 of the last 10 posts have images, mostly for eye candy.
Daily Blog Tips: 6 out of the last 10 have images. 4 are eye candy and 2 are for ‘reader engagement’ (examples or screenshots).
Round 5:
Uniqueness of copywrite:
ProBlogger: Much of what ProBlogger has written is the first time it has been blogged about. Darren uses short paragraphs, red heading, and tons of lists.
Daily Blog Tips: Daniel gives out unique information. Blue titles, black headings
Round 6:
Success story:
ProBlogger: Darren started his digital photography blog as a hobby. After making some money he thought, “Hey, this can really pay. But there aren’t any blogs out there on how to make money. I know! I’ll start one to log my actions and help others learn.” He has never looked back. He is noted to make 6 figures from blogging, but who really knows how much? There is a huge difference between 100,000 and 999,999. Of course, many of us would take either. Who cares anyway? The guy gives great information and was once a regular Joe.
Daily Blog Tips: Daniel traveled the world and received a degree in International Economics. After working for a year, he decided to pursue the Internet’s capabilities. After blogging for several blogs, he decided to share his knowledge with the rest of the world.
And the winner is:
You decide. Who do you think should win the Blog Fight? Vote in the comments!
Congrats to both Darren Rowse and Daniel Scocco for creating two of the best resources on the web about blogging and marketing in general.

I’ll throw in a vote for Darren at ProBlogger. I read his stuff a good bit, when I have time.
Nice series, Gary. I really enjoyed it.
