DealDotCom has been thrown around the blogosphere quite often the past few months. But what is it, how good is it and does it actually work? That is where I come in.
DealDotCom is known for its “bargain of the day” products. It is much like Woot but with one special advantage, DealDotCom shares the wealth with webmasters by offering an affiliate and referral program.
Cool right? Definitely, that is if you want to show a dynamic banner. Since DealDotCom’s bargain product changes every day it is impossible to do the natural affiliate thing–write a review about the product.
So what is a guy to do? Place the widget on your site, sit back and wait for someone to buy. Their system makes uber-easy to do this. Well, not really, but others have. Just download a plugin, put it on your site and it will automatically display the deal of the day.
What does the widget look like?
But how much can be made? The products in question generally go anywhere from $10-$50 but sometimes more. Software, books, and other (generally computer tech related) objects are sold. You earn 35% of each sell, so even at $10/product you are making a nice commission.
Not up to selling? That’s OK. DealDotCom offers a two-tier referral program, so you earn a percent of what others make two people deep. So if you refer someone who in-turn refers someone else, you still earn money from the second person. Great concept right?
The concept is great. Offer a product and let webmasters sell it by giving them a great commission rate. Well, not exactly. Anyone can offer a product. Just head over to DealDotCom’s submit your product page and see for yourself. Of course, they always select the best of the best, so most products aren’t selected. To quote Whatever you’re selling through us must be an actual DEAL.

Already tried DealDotCom?
Tell me your experiences with it. Did you make money? How long did you try it?
For me, it hasn’t worked yet. I hate not being able to choose what product is shown on my blog. However, maybe some others will have a different opinion.
