The all anticipated Google Phone (GPhone) may be here sooner than expected. Engaget reported last month a prototype might be ready. According to the Wall Street Journal, specifications have already been laid out by Google for mobile carriers and manufacturers.
Specs include: camera for photo and video, 3G technology to allow for fast internet browsing, built in Wi-Fi, GPS system, and a possible mobile payment system.
One possible manufacture of the GPhone is LG Electronics Co. of South Korea which has held talks with Google in past months. With the GPhone having a large color screen with QWERTY keyboard, some call minutes and texting paid for by advertising and that T-Mobile will be the carrier. Although, some sources say otherwise.
Don’t get too excited. Some sources are saying the GPhone might never take place and the hoopla is over a new Google Mobile OS which is due out soon. The OS is based off Linux and will have all the usual Google technology like maps and search.
