Yes, yes, the new Entrecard Toolbar is out, and it is great right? Well, sort of. It does have its bugs, but doesn’t all new programs?
For those of us who want to open more than 10 websites at a time it can be a pain. It is a good thing Firefox extensions can be edited within your own computer.
Want to open 20, 30, or even 40 tabs at a time? Well here’s how
- go to C:Documents and Settings[user]Application DataMozillaFirefoxProfiles[profile]extensionsec_toolbar@entrecard.comchrome
- Extract ec_toolbar.jar using 7-zip or WinZip or WinRar
- go to content
- open ec_toolbar.js using notepad
- go to line 572 or search ec_toolbar_next_10
- change all 10s to 20s (or whatever number you want)
- delete ec_toolar.jar (or better yet, make a copy and save it somewhere else)
- highlight the content and skin folder, right click and zip them.
- rename the file to ec_toolbar.jar
And you’re finished!
You can easily change the skin the same way. Just go to the skin folder and change the images, then zip it and change the name.
Note: No disrespect to Phirate or the EC team is intended. All I want is for everyone to be able to enjoy the EC toolbar.

You made fast work of that just out and you have changes made to the code

I created a few themes back in the day and a couple extensions/added onto extensions so I knew how to already. It was just a matter of finding the next_10 and writing this post quickly.

Very cool
Not for beginners, the insides of those files could easily break things, but for those will the skills of suitable levels of bravery, go for it

I have Vista. The file location is different? I go to C:users[user]applicationdata and get the “error” … data is not accessible / access denied. Maybe you could make a download available with “next 25″?

Did I already post this?

You can see your profile locations here, everything else should be the same:

Yes, ok. Seems to have worked. I’m just hoping I didn’t mess anything up. So far, looks good. Thanks LOTS!

Does this still work?
I am trying on FF3, XP, toolbar ver 0.7
I cannot get it working.
I am following the instructions properly because when I change the value back to 10 it starts working again - but if I change it to anything higher the toolbar refuses to open ANY windows…

You are using the exact same specs as I am, so it should work. Just make sure you are changing the numbers within the ec_toolbar_next_10 function and leave the rest alone (functions begin and end with curly brackets).
