MaxBlogPress has several WordPress plugins to help increase your traffic and income. All MaxBlogPress plugins are free, so there’s nothing to lose!
Stripe Ads
The latest plugin offered by MaxBlogPress is called Stripe Ads. You’ve probably seen them around. A stripe ad is a cool little stripe that is placed on the top of blogs, usually with some form of advertising.

When Google first came out with their Firefox referrals, I slapped one of these babies on my website and earned quite a bit of money. Although, at that time I had to write the script myself. Now, MaxBlogPress has offered a way to easily ad the stripe without any coding on your part at all. Just go to the Stripe Ads plugin page, download and upload to your wp-content/plugins and you are all set. Just put in whatever text you want to show in the stripe ad and you are ready to go.
Ping Optimizer
By default WordPress pings all services everytime you edit or publish an article at a future date. This can cause some huge problems, because it is pinging the services without additional information. It is seen as spam and can cause your website to be banned.
This is where MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer comes into play. The ping optimizer will correct the pinging system to notify the services only when new information is added, and not when editing or future publications are announced.
Unblockable Popup
Now, I’m not too much of a fan of popups, but this is something of a different beast. The MaxBlogPress Unblockable Popup displays a small window ontop of your blog with anything you want inside. Many bloggers have found that adding RSS subscription info helps raise their total subscriptions substantionally. Be careful however, this can also annoy your visitors.
Click Maximizer
If you are a fan of BlogRush, then you have to check out MaxBlogPress Click Maximizer. Basically, it allows you to select what posts will be shown over the BlogRush network allowing for more control and premusably a much higher click-through-rate.
DealDotCom Widget
Display the latest Deal of the Day at DealDotCom within your sidebar easily by using the DealDotCom Widget.
Different Posts Per Page
MaxBlogPress Different Posts Per Page allows you to display a different amount of posts per page and select which order (DESC or ASC) they will be displayed. Really handy if you want to put 5 posts on the homepage (so it displays quicker) and 10 on category pages to allow your visitors to see what you wrote about longer ago.

That Stripe Ads plugin looks pretty sweet!
Question… while you were using your own script, did you ever have anyone complain about the ad up top? What were your experiences with using that area for ad placement?
Great post!
I don’t recall any complaints. I only showed the Stripe Ad to Internet Explorer users, so it wasn’t entirely the same type of thing. Once they downloaded Firefox and loaded my website it didn’t show any longer. But anyway, IE users never sent me a complaint.
As far as the ad placement goes, usually the very top isn’t a good click-through place–the middle or left side is generally the best for that sort of thing. However, with Stripe Ads, they grab the users attention they has the same look as the Internet Explorer warning bar.
Anyways, I think it is a little ‘dirty’ because of this, and some visitors won’t like it. I don’t like them any longer, but then again I am not the average visitor and haven’t heard anything bad about them from others. JohnChow tried it and sold out his ad inventory rather quickly. Engadget uses it along with many others. So right now it is pretty much the thing to do.
