Since Valentine’s Day, Yahoo Publisher’s earnings have been falling, hard.
I will use purely examples, but the effect is all the same.
Late November-Feb. 13th: $50/day
Feb. 14th-Feb. 22: $20/day
Huge drop in earnings. An estimated 60% drop! Other members have reportedly seen 70-80% drop over the same period.
The drop started on that Tuesday as I stated, however, it didn’t drop all the way until Saturday, when earnings neared 0.30 cents per 1000 page views. Very low. It went up a little Sunday by a few cents, then dropped back down on Monday once again, and perhaps even farther Tuesday.
YPN officials stated that they were doing some testing and also that there were major ‘glitches’ in the system on Friday, but should be repaired soon.
My question is, if the down time/lower earnings didn’t drop until Friday, what happened that last Tuesday? Definately weird.
Now, my site is poetry of course, so I would definately see a drop in earnings after Valentine’s Day, it’s only natural. What isn’t natural is how much it dropped. 0.30 CPM is lower than anything I have ever received before. Even Adsense doesn’t pay that little.
This just really angers me. I was a huge fan of YPN up until this happened. I understand that it is BETA, but these problems should be explained promptly and answered correctly instead of giving us some politician answers.
I have changed one site back to 100% adsense and will check on it in the afternoon tomorrow to see how it’s earnings fair over there. I may also email YPN support AGAIN, and hopefully they respond to me this time.
